Discover the depraved history of Fleet Street on this haunting guided tour oozing with the sights, sounds, songs, and stories of 17th and 18th-century London.
A gripping tour through the snarling thoroughfares, mournful churchyards and seedy alleys of Fleet Street tracing the rise and demise of the press in London’s red-light district. Led by Dr Matthew Green ghosts and musicians planted along the route.
The tour is led by historian Dr Matthew Green. It lasts approximately 1hr 30 minutes, beginning by the plaque commemorating Wynkyn de Worde, the Father of Fleet Street, in Stationers' Hall Court off Ave Maria Lane. We finish with a pint in the Blackfriars pub overlooking the silver Thames.
